The City of Wasilla is one of the fastest growing
communities in the United States. The City, through economic development and investment in our infrastructure, has developed itself into a retail trade and service center for the Matanuska-Susitna (Mat-Su) Borough.
Wasilla provides services to well over 88,000 people in the area. Based on investment trends by large retailers and small business entrepreneurs, demographic trends, and new housing construction, the City of Wasilla will continue to retain its position as the financial, service, and retail center for the Mat-Su Borough in the coming years.
