Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is comprised of seven members who must be residents of the City. The duties of the Commission include, but are not limited to:

• Reviewing and updating the City’s Comprehensive Plan and the Land Development Code; Wasilla Municipal Code Title 16. 
• Reviewing and making recommendations to the City Council for all proposed rezoning requests.
• Conducting public hearing and making determinations on all permit applications that require a public hearing. 
•  Hearing all appeals of decisions by the City Planner.
• Reviewing and making recommendations on the City’s capital improvement program.
• Reviewing and making determinations on state construction projects (per AS 35.30.010).

Regular Meetings of the Planning Commission are held on the second Tuesday of each month, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Wasilla City Hall Council Chambers, located 290 E. Herning Avenue, Wasilla, Alaska. To view the meeting calendar, please click here.
