Administrative Hearing Officers

Administrative Hearing Officers shall have jurisdiction over appeals of a Planning Commission decision related to Title 16 (land use) and appeals of a classification, written administrative order or forfeiture of animals related to Title 7.

Administrative Hearing Officers shall be an attorney duly licensed to practice law in the state of Alaska, or have training and experience in arbitration, mediation, contract law, and be familiar with Wasilla Municipal Code Title 7, Animal Care and Regulation, and/or Title 16, Land Development. They shall hold no other appointed or elected office or position for the City.

Prior to participating in an appeal case, the Administrative Hearing Officer shall state in writing that they have no conflict of interest pertaining to the case. Administrative Hearing Officers must comply with Wasilla Municipal Code Chapter 2.76, in regard to conflict of interest and ex parte contact.

Applications for Administrative Hearing Officers are accepted in the Office of the City Clerk.
