U.S. Census Bureau data for the year 2000 indicate that the populations of Wasilla and the Borough have increased by 35.7 and 49 percent, respectively, since 1990. Wasilla’s 35.7 percent increase is more than double Alaska’s statewide increase of 14 percent. Growth continues. Wasilla’s estimated population for 2007 is 7,025 (DCED)
