The Office of the City Clerk provides a direct link between the residents of the city and their elected officials. The city clerk is appointed by the city council and serves as administrative support to the council. The clerk administers elections, prepares petitions and verifies signatures for initiatives, referendum and recall elections.
Additional areas of responsibility include records management and public records requests. The Clerk prepares city council meeting agendas and council packets. The Wasilla City Clerk's Office also administers records for the Wasilla Aurora Cemetery.
